This hunt offers spring and fall hunts for the pure strain of Merriams turkey. The spring hunts take place April 1 through May 15 and have almost a 100 percent harvest rate. Fall hunts run Oct. 1 through Nov. 30. Hunting in the open habitat of the West allows a unique opportunity to witness undisturbed turkey activity and learn volumes about the bird on one hunt. This is a great time of year to bring the family. Clients are encouraged to call themselves, but every guide is an experienced caller, ready and willing to help out or take the lead. Fall turkey can be added to almost all rifle hunts, and although it is a little tougher to find a tom in the fall, it is doable.
