Mule Deer are just fun to hunt in the Rut, and with Over-the-Counter Tags, this hunt is a hard one to beat! These hunts are conducted as 4-Day hunts for Archery, Rifle, & Muzzleloader. A typical day of hunting would be spent glassing agricultural areas from elevated points hoping to catch animals moving to and from feeding and bedding areas in the morning and evening.
The remainder of the day is spent still hunting, spot and stalking, and sit in heated blinds overlooking large areas. Mule Deer size expectations are in the 130”-180” and the distance of the average rifle shot will be from 100 to 250 yards with every attempt to find a solid rest before the shot is taken. This is also a great hunt for people with limited physical abilities, as the terrain allows you to get closer using 4×4 vehicles.
