The Kaskattama River Delta area contains islands, sandbars, large mud flats and salt marshes making it an ideal habitat for numerous species of shorebird, raptors and waterfowl. This rich ecosystem holds lesser snow geese and Canada geese, with daily recorded bird counts as high as 50,000 and 10,000, respectively.
Hunts are conducted using the outfitter’s helicopter to place hunting groups in the center of migrating waterfowl each day. You will hunt out of brush blinds and shoot volley after volley of ducks, snow geese, and Canadian geese until your limit is reached. Expect to share this prime waterfowl habitat with other residents such as moose, caribou, polar bear, black bear, and wolfs. The lodge is an historic gem. It is the old Hudson Bay Company fur warehouse that has been expanded and completely renovated. Cabins are roomy, comfortable, and warm.
There is also plentiful willow ptarmigan and sea-run brook trout available to pursue as well for no extra charge. This hunt is perfect for those looking for a tremendous waterfowl hunt in remote tundra country that is unlike anywhere else in North America.
