Mountain Goat Hunt Requirements

This goat hunt, like most mountain goat hunts, requires a hunter who is in excellent physical condition and comfortable with heights. You need to be able to climb to where the goats are, or you will not have a successful hunt.

Most hunts are backpack-only: hunters fly via float plane into a remote lake and hike from there. The distance to “goat country” varies depending on the hunt you book.

A horseback-assisted option is available to help reach the base of the goat mountains; however, hunters still need to climb the rocky terrain, as goats are usually found in areas not suitable for horses.
