Yukon Mountain Goat Hunt
Yukon mountain goats, with their large bodies and snow-white capes, make for truly beautiful mounts. These goats are found at the northernmost part of their range and tend to fur up quicker than most populations. Mature billies can reach close to 400 pounds, while horns average around 9 inches with 5¼ inch bases.
Guides primarily target the older, mature big billies, ensuring impressive trophies. One of the benefits of hunting Yukon goats is the opportunity to hunt early in the year, before severe weather sets in, while also harvesting goats with the largest bodies for exceptional mounts.
The outfitter hunts goats in August and the first week of September, maintaining a 100% success rate over the last four years. Hunts are conducted in Concession 22, located in the southeast corner of the Yukon. This concession covers approximately 14,000 square miles (8.9 million acres) of pure wilderness with no year-round residents, providing hunters with a true wilderness experience.
